The ‘must know’s of your wedding!

There are certain things about wedding planning that seem like common knowledge. . Buy comfortable shoes. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Waterproof mascara. However, there are other bits of information that are extremely useful but you may not have heard of. These are the must knows of every wedding!

1. Insure your ring. Call your home insurance company to add it to your policy. This is something you will have and cherish for your entire life, and you don’t want to risk anything happening to it.

2. Bring that bridal emergency kit. Utilizing a wedding planner will come in handy here, as most wedding planners will have an all-encompassing emergency kit they bring to every event. You can find a list of useful items here.

3. Most brides will spend several months getting in their best shape for their big day. However, not all brides have as much time to prepare. If you are short on time, try focusing on your arms and back. If you plan on wearing a strapless dress, focusing on these areas will help enhance your look on your special day.

4. Avoid a wedding day debacle and take the time to drive to your venue using your own directions. Don’t print and send those directions for your guests until you have tested them for yourself. By doing this, you may foresee construction, or you may have typed the wrong street, sending guests the wrong way. You don’t want your grandma or great uncle getting lost and missing pictures, or the ceremony.

5. Don’t forget to look at each other during the recessional. This is an important moment for the photographer to capture, and looking at each other (maybe even a quick kiss!) will allow for cute and romantic pictures. Don’t forget to look at your guests and smile at them too, as they want to share your day and your joy.

**Bonus Tip:

Your wedding dress will likely be warmer than you think. You’ll look amazing, but all that dancing in a heavy dress might cause some excessive perspiration.  Drink lots (and lots) of water. Stay hydrated on your day so you can enjoy your wedding night. Also, consider using powder, chafing relief gel, and/or antiperspirant for your underarms and inner legs. Bustier women might also considering utilizing one of these around the bust area.
